Subject: Trumpet News Reader
In general, I like this News Reader. However, I experience two problems.
First, I can not post. I am able to reply to someone but anytime I try to
either post a new article or follow up, my post is rejected. I am
able to post from my campus account to that newsgroup when I telnet and use
the trn newsreader.
Secondly, I periodically loose all the newsgroups to which I am subscribed.
I can't seem to figure out how Trumpet knows to which groups it is subscribed
Someone on this newsgroup once suggested editing the news.ini file. I
tried that but that does not seem to work.ws to which groups it subscribes.

I couldn't agree more. Although I just recently hooked into the net and
therefore, alt.winsock, it seems that the primary focus is winsock utility
availability, what is winsock, and hey - How about that latest Mosaic?
If i'm reading the wrong newsgroup for winsock programming discussion, then
please point me to the correct one. But it seems to me that these 'stray'
discussions need a better home.
Speaking of programming issues, ... see my next post.

It works, but not good enough to where I recomend you use it.

The topics seem to be determined by the subscribers in an eminently democratic
manner, and judging from the number of "Thank you" replies that I have seen it
is serving a useful purpose for those subscribers. So perhaps its only "noise"
to you. If more programmers, like you, feel a need for a more specialized forum
then how about your own alt.winsock.programming? I do feel it is unfair to
imply that the bulk of the subscribers here shouldn't be here.
